Like jrichker said, it depends on if this is mild street driving, rolling on the power, street tires that spin are easier on parts than drag radials or slicks that hook. The stock 10spline input shaft will twist with hard launches and big torque.

The last 306 engine combo i built that i used that t5 behind, made 418 whp, ran 11.02 at 125 mph. Anything over 500whp/fts of torque and a set of slicks would scare me with the 10 spline input shaft.

My t5 has lasted very reliably behind about 480 ftlb flywheel torque (412 at wheels) with much full throttle use at the strip. It just all depends normally the t5 can only handle about 300ftlbs of torque.
